Naturist camping Candler's Point

DeLorme Florida Atlas & Gazeteer page 86 grid D2

Candler's Point is the Northern point of the two points at the narrowest part of Lake Hatchineha.

The point itself is campable, as is the stretch of shore just west if the point. There is a lot more room in the western stretch, but not as much natural privacy screening as at the point itself.

Air boaters pass by these campsites fairly frequently. They would probably be better week day sites than weekend ones. I have camped there during the week and had no trouble with a lot of passing boats.

The water level changes quite a bit. At times, you will have to walk ashore through the mud, possibly leaving your boat out away from shore. At other times, you can beach your boat right at your campsite.

Canoes are well suited here, but any small boat should be ok, even if you have to paddle your boat in, or drag it.
