Naturist camping on Lake Hatchineha

The "Yacht Club" is not a club, and I've never seen yachts there (it's way too shallow for yachts).

It's basically a picnic/storm shelter that a group primarily composed of airboaters built years ago, and rebuilt after the 2004 hurricanes.

The sign inside the shelter says it all:

There's a well next to the shelter that has some of the best sulphur-water in the area. Sorry I wasn't very well in-focus (I was REALLY thirsty that day).

I would not recommend you try to camp at the Yacht Club on ANY weekend, any time of year. You aren't likely to convert airboaters to nudism/naturism, and they will be there on the weekends.

During the week, it's a different story. I wouldn't try to CAMP right at the Yacht Club, but there's high ground both North and South of the shelter that would give you plenty of distance should an airboat show up at the shelter.

The lake has some firm sand here (as opposed to muck), so you might just want to visit the Yacht Club from a nearby campsite for a picnic lunch and a skinnydip if the water's high enough and warm enough.

Sometimes I just go to the Yacht Club to take some good ole sulphur water back to camp!
