Naturist Hiking the Kissimmee River on the Florida Trail
DeLorme Florida Atlas & Gazeteer page 100 grid A3

The Florida Trail leaves Highway 98 just West of the Kissimmee River and parallels the road a bit, then heads North. This section of the trail is hikeable naturist style until the next road crossing. You'll need a towel, shorts, breechcloth, or something similar here.

After the road, the trail continues North, paralleling the river. When the trail actually meets the river, there are campsites. There was a lot of boat traffic on the river when I camped there, so try to camp back from the water if you're going to be nude in your campsite.

Further North is the Avon Park Bombing Range. Hikers are allowed to cross the range provided they stay on the trail, and hike in groups of two or more.

Hiking nude through the range may not be a good idea. The range is patrolled by Military Police (MPs). They may not be receptive to nude hikers.

Once you're north of the range, you are back in prime naturist hiking country as long as it's not hunting season.

The trail passes through the site if the abandoned town of Kicco (pronounced Kiss-oh). This is a fascinating place to camp, but I would not recommend you do that on weekends. (The place shows signs of frequent use, and there is a boat landing here, so people don't have to hike to get here.)

The trail leaves Kicco and eventually comes to a parking area in River Ranch Acres. The parking area is pretty remote, and I have hiked nude to and from my vehicle here.
