Naturist camping on London Creek

London Creek flows into the northern end of Lake Hatchineha. Most of its shoreline is posted 'No Trespassing', but I have been told by local law enforcement that on the east bank of the creek, you may camp between the signs and the lake itself. In other words, land your boat on the East (right) shore before you get to the signs.

There is high ground here well away from the water. Boaters passed by several times on the creek while I was camped there, but couldn't see into my campsite. (I did put a sign on the boat saying 'Nudist Area Today, in case anyone decided to come ashore. No one did, but I could hear some amused responses among the passing boaters, including "It's the perfect place for it".)

Looking at the boat from the trail leading into camp. The sign on the left is a cartoon naked man with the words 'Nudist Area Today'. The sign on the right is a cartoon posterior that says "Butt Naked Today"

There were a lot of weeds at this site due to recent (Sep '07) lack of use, but I had no trouble setting up camp and had a wonderful nude weekend.

The only drawback of this trip was that London Creek was higher than I'm used to it being, and I couldn't find the familiar sandbars I like to wade in from. The creek drops off abruptly and the water is ice-tea color due to the cypress trees, so I prefer using the sandbars for taking dips. This trip I refreshed myself several times by pouring pots of the water over myself as I stood on the bank.
