Car Camping

For our purposes, car camping refers to going somewhere by vehicle, then setting up camp right by or in the vehicle. (It's the kind of camping MOST people do.) To differentiate further, car camping can be divided into Recreational Vehicle (RV) camping and tent camping.

Car camping allows you to bring bulky items like ice chests, cumbersome cookstoves, folding tables, cots, etc. It's basically the least demanding type of camping, though it can be difficult to find places to practice naturist camping from the car (car accessible campsites tend to be the most used, and therefore most crowded of all camping areas). You might want to consider using an established naturist campground. There are a number of naturist clubs which offer camping in Florida.

In the case of RV camping, the vehicle is your shelter. Camping with a large RV limits you as to where you can go. For practical purposes, you are pretty much limited to developed campgrounds (due to road surfaces, overhead clearances, etc). About the only sure way to practice naturist camping with a large RV is to use one of the commercial naturist campgrounds.

Minimalist RV camping . . . in more ways than one

For smaller RVs, pop-ups, and tents, you have a little more flexibility. State and National Forests often have back roads which are remote enough for weekday camping. Weekends are more problematic. Since anyone can drive to a car campsite, you may have a lot of "weekend warriors" to deal with. The key to successful weekend naturist car camping is to find a site with limited access (like just one jeep trail or forest road in/out). The site itself should be small enough that you pretty much fill it up yourself. Post a "nudist area" or similar sign at the access point to the campsite far enough back so people aren't seeing you before they see the sign.
