This is the dock. You can see why the bugs are bad.
Canepatch is one of the most remote campsites in the Everglades park. It is very buggy in the warmer months - to the point of being totally impractical for camping. It's a good possibility for winter camping. (Of course then it might be too cold for naturist camping.)
The bugs are so bad in Summer that even with repellant on, you literally collide with the bugs as you walk. The air is that thick with them!

One of the Everglades guidebooks shows the above left picture for Canepatch. On the right is my attempt to recreate that shot from memory. (I then "bugged out" of there before losing too much blood.
