Highland Beach is a 2.7 mile-long beach located about halfway along the Gulf coast between Everglades City and Flamingo. Talk about remote!
Most of the usable campsites are located near the South end of the beach.
The only drawback of this location is the extreme shallowness of the shoreline (as seen in this low-tide photo). This is a location for a CANOE or SHALLOW DRAFT BOAT ONLY!
